Rudy`s Chicken in Dallas

Its gone down hill. Used to be good but now its salty and overcooked.

Really good chicken. Very similar to Frenchy's in Houston. I've heard there's debate between Houston and Dallas natives about which is better. I'll give Frenchy's the edge but you can't go wrong with either. Almost deducted a star though. How does a hood spot like this not have strawberry soda or kool-aid?

I love their food. Great service.

The fries and corn nuggets were good. Make sure you get the extra seasoning.The smell of marijuana permeates the atmosphere. Which can be a distraction from the pretty tasty chicken.

Waited 40 minutes from 10:13pm-10:53pm to order food, and 10 minutes of that was at the drive thru microphone, only to be told that they were out of chicken. Ridiculous customer service and horrendous efficiency. Probably wasted $10 in gasoline sitting in their 2 lane drive thru line. Will NEVER come back.

Good food at a good price! I walked up to the window and they gave a little extra with the meal. I will definitely go back despite all the people who come around begging for a hand out from you.

They have the freshest, best seasoned chicken in Texas served hot a perfectly cooked.

Decent, I'd take Popeye's over this. It's not nasty chicken, but there are other places that would make you smile when you take a bite.

I love this place, but THIS time they got my order wrong. Ordered a 5 breast meal, got charged for 5, but only received a 2 breast meal. Damn

Rudy’ssssssssssssssssssssss!!! This was my girlfriend and I first time here. And let me tell you...I’m happy we decided to try 35 minutes to this place. It was well worth the drive. The chicken is fried to perfection and the crunchiness of the chicken is AMAZING! We will most definitely be back. We ordered the 10pcs wings. It came with white bread, peppers, pickles & fries. If you haven’t been you should go for sure!

It sucked! I was in line for almost 2 hours. I thought the reason for them moving was to better the wait time.

The chicken was fresh and seasoned. If you have high blood pressure this may not be the place for you. I have low blood pressure so I'm good. I didnt like their sauce,it kinda taste like buffalo wing sauce. I waited in a long line off the street. I went around 2:15pm today. (Sunday) No Mask No Service for walk ups. No problem for me, lets keep everyone safe. Have patience to wait in long line, chicken was worth it. I would return. Customer Service was ok, nothing to write about. I didnt experience any rudeness. Pay,get your chicken and leave.

I was craving some home style fried chicken ( not church's , not popeye's and didn't feel like cooking)! My husband's always talks about Rudy's. We popped it into the GPS and headed down to South Dallas. The chicken was hot, fresh and tasty! The french fries were seasoned to perfection. The reason I didn't rate 5 stars is because the corn fritters were missing from my order....no biggie,it happens. I called and was told to either come back right then, or the next day and ask for a specific employee. It's a troop from where I live so that wasn't an amicable option for me. I offered to come on the weekend and was told that I may not get a replacement because he "may not be there that day". This won't stop me from supporting this business , I just know to check my order thoroughly before in the future before pulling off.

Chicken was good. Fries not so much... we didn't get the pickles and peppers, that was a bummer, I drove quite a ways the line was horrendous. I heard it's always like that. I parked and went up to window to order, still a wait, but not as bad.

Food is always good but service not so much. They need a better system

The food is always good but don't require the people standing in line to wear a mask if you're standing on the other side of the glass without a mask on! Smh!!!

Guys if your not from oakcliff/south oakcliff plz don’t eat here , don’t wait the 40 min drive thru line , save your self a trip and just go to babes chickens in cedar hill or even any church’s chicken. We are Not impressed I’ve had better outside oakcliff 👊🏼

This place is horrible. Horrible customer service. I waited in line for 2 hours and the ordering speaker window didn’t work so I waited to get the window and once I got the window the man said he won’t take my order and I had to get back in line. Absolutely pathetic customer service. I told him I waited for two hours and he just didn’t care. Don’t come here, you’re wasting your time.

One of my favorites. I love Rudy's. They're always good to me, & every chance I get when I'm on that side of town, I get me some Rudy's.

First time going knew the line would be long, 1 hour 20 minutes, theres nothing I wont that bad to wait that long, then to top it off my chicken wasnt even fresh ,dont think.ill go back

Good food !!! But gotta be ready to order and remember yo number they give you !! Lol

This chicken really is killer. Just the right amount of spice (lots), and the price really can't be beat. Get a 10 piece, have some leftovers, totally worth it. Just be prepared to wait in line for a while, or go during off-peak hours.

It was some decent old school fried chicken. Nothing worth an hour wait. My son said he didn't think he would like it, and after tasting he said I fry chicken better. Most on the seasoning is ontop of the skin. But it wasn't dry!! So 3 stars for moust chicken.

Waited in line at noon for over thirty minutes but it is ALWAYS worth it!

The chicken was fresh & hot, but the wait time was very, very, very, very long, and that was frustrating to me, I wasn't as hungry anymore! After waiting so long I just couldn't enjoy it, and I gave it to my brother.

Good chicken, but horrible wait. Wouldn't take call in orders to avoid the line. They have two lines that converge into one. I get it, even Wendy's does this, but Wendy's doesn't make you wait 45-60 minutes for an order (my whole lunch hour). Should have thought about how to be more efficient in ordering, when they built the new building - but somehow I have a feeling they don't care. This is a once in a blue moon trip for me because of the wait. Good chicken, but not a wait an hour good. Henderson or Popeye's gets my business more often.

Ordered Gizzards and 2 piece chicken with fries. I ate gizzards all the way back to Euless which where I live. Will definitely be back again. I hate all the black-owned soul food, BBQ, and fish places are in Dallas.

Best By Far. Long Line But Worth The Wait.

I cannot say enough good things about Rudy’s! We drive from ft worth to south Dallas weekly just for Rudy’s! The fries are seasoned perfectly and if you let them sit the pickle flavor and flavor from the jalapeño will soak up into the fries! The chicken is always hot and fresh! It’s chicken crack for sure!! They are always nice and don’t mind the wait! It’s totally worth it! They need a location in ft worth! They are way better than Lisa’s! We love it!

An Oak Cliff institution. I have to make a stop whenever I am in the area to pick up a three piece with extra seasoning. There is always a line but when you tear open that white paper sack and bite into that fresh out the grease yard bird. You will understand why.

Drove from SW Ft Worth tonight to get one of my all time favorites for chicken. Arrived at about 10:40pm of course the lines , 2 of them was out to the street .At about 11:50pm we are 3 cars back from the order board at the drive through, and the staff is telling the security guard to tell all cars from my car back and same on the other lane to leave.....they have ran out of CHICKEN, the lines of cars are still backTo the street. Their closing time on Saturday is 2am!!!Tell me how the most popular chicken place in Dallas that sells primarily CHICKEN runs OUT?????? 2 1/2 hours prior to their closing time and you have about 12-15 cars that has been in your drive through over an hour waiting.They have lost my Business, I’ll never make that 45 min one way drive again!!!! BAD Business

The chicken tastes fine. No issue there. Not worth waiting an hour though. The employee's however are very rude. Pretty much every visit

The skin on the chicken is delicious and I love that it’s a black owned business, but I’m disappointed in the complete lack of any sort of customer service. After waiting 50+ minutes, I was given the wrong order (missing two whole pieces of chicken) and cold fries. The employee at the window was extremely disrespectful. I won’t be back. Value the black dollar!

1st time visiting this place and i would definitely return! The seasoning was good and on point (i did ask for extra seasoning because i heard the person before me ask lol). The Rudy sauce was wonderful as well. Only bad thing i can say about this place is that they forgot my corn fritters but ill still return.

I like this chicken better than Popeyes! Sorry not sorry!

Would have gave them a 4 but the cashier working the drive thru was rude. But I understand why. It's non stop so he probably was tired. Far as the chicken go it's nothing amazing but it's the seasoning they put on it. It's just different but that's about it. But it wasn't bad either. They put pickles in the basket with the chicken and that threw me off. Just know if you go the line is long.

Best chicken in Dallas area. The seasoning on the chicken is pretty good. Be prepared for a long line though but its worthy it.

Great food!. I wish there was a Rudys Restaurant that you can sit in and eat. But while waiting for my chicken tenders meal a guy was ordering a two piece and fries chicken meal with extra salt.Extra Salt!! . When I received my meal and tasted my fries I remembered that I should have said light seasoning to get less salt for better (lower blood pressure). But it did'nt kill me. G

Chicken was delicious, If you can stand being in line for about 20 minutes. But it was well worth it.

I passed by four different chicken spots in South Dallas and Rudy's was the only one with lines wrapped around the corner, that should tell you something.

Great food! The seasoning they use makes chicken taste so good. The only dwn part is there is a long wait time to get your food , will definetley come back soon!
